There's no denying the statistics about breast cancer are daunting: About 252,710 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women. About 63,410 new cases of carcinoma in situ (CIS) will be diagnosed (CIS is noninvasive and is the earliest form of breast cancer). About 40,610 women will die from breast cancer. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women (only lung cancer kills more women each year). * American Cancer Society estimates for 2017.

According to the American Cancer Society, “In 2017, there will be an estimated 1,688,780 new cancer cases diagnosed and 600,920 cancer deaths in the U.S.”

Last week, the New York Times published an article that New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s opioid commission agreed to a deal with pharmaceutical manufacturers to “work on non-addictive pain medications and additional treatments to deal with opioid addiction.”

You might be wondering, “Instant what?”
