An eight-hour drive to the nearest hospital could be inconvenient under regular circumstances. But during Hannah Rowland’s major postpartum hemorrhage, it proved life-threatening.

Fifty over zero. That was the blood pressure reading for Wendy Green’s oldest son after being bitten by a rattlesnake. “They gave him all the anti-venom that they had in the whole hospital,” she says.

When Diane Rhodes and her family joined Medi-Share 25 years ago, there was a touch of hesitancy in the decision. After all, the ministry had only been around for five short years. Diane recalls, “Our main concern when we joined Medi-Share was: Is this a fly-by-night thing?”

Medi-Share member and volunteer Brenda Schweitzer has come to a powerful realization over the past decade. “Medi-Share is a ministry,” she says. “It’s the body of Christ. It’s different, and it’s worth fighting for.”

With eleven kids in their family, Carrie Ayers and her husband are certainly extra blessed — and extra busy! But when it comes to any health issues, the Ayers are confident their decision to choose Medi-Share will never cause extra stress. In fact, one word pops up continually as she talks about her Medi-Share experience: Easy.
