“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us …”

The older I get, the more I realize just how remarkably unprepared I am for the complexities of life.

[As previously seen on Crosswalk.com] I have a memory that pops up once in a while. I was in second grade, playing outside with my two best friends. We stood in a circle, and we decided we would each point to our best friend. Lauren pointed at Becca, and Becca pointed at Lauren. I can't remember who I pointed to, but I do remember that no one pointed at me. It was so long ago, so simple, and yet so hurtful.

As Martha’s brother, Lazarus, lay four days dead in a tomb, Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)

It’s Holy Week! That means Christians the world over are remembering Jesus’ humble entry into Jerusalem, His last supper with his disciples, His substitutionary suffering and death on a Roman cross, and His triumphal resurrection. What a week!
