November 11 is Veterans Day. I am a proud, Cold War-era veteran of the U.S. Army Field Artillery.

Working for Christian Care Ministry is not like other jobs. There are opportunities that are unique to us that you don’t see in the secular world: weekly Chapel, Missions paid time off to go serve in our community, and the highlight of the year—Day of Sharing.

Transitions can be particularly challenging. Working in a health care sharing ministry where our daily mission is to connect people to a Christ-centered community wellness experience, we continuously find ourselves offering comfort, prayer, and sage advice on how to live well.

Unachieved goals are not usually a result of a lack of know-how, but the absence of accountability.

A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. - Luke 10:30

In this fallen world, it’s guaranteed that you know, have known, or will know someone who’s hurting. Maybe it’s a physical hurt — an acute sickness, injury, or chronic illness. Maybe it’s an emotional hurt — a loss, rejection, or broken heart.

There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place. – Deuteronomy 1:31
