At Medi-Share, our mission is to serve you well, honoring both your needs and the principles of our sharing community. As part of that commitment, we continually look for ways to review your sharing requests accurately, consistently, and with care. This notice explains how we use technology-assisted tools in that process and what it means for you.
Technology That Supports—Not Replaces—Our Team Person Reviews Every Request
Medi-Share uses an artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted tool to help our Medical Review team review medical records and related documentation submitted with your sharing request. This tool is designed to help our staff work more efficiently and consistently, reading and organizing information so our team can focus on what matters most: applying our Guidelines accurately to the medical records and documentation you provide.
The AI tool does not make sharing decisions. It is a support resource, similar to a well-organized summary prepared for a reviewer, that helps our team see the relevant information clearly and efficiently.
A Person Reviews Every Request
Every sharing determination at Medi-Share is made by a trained member of our staff: a real person who reviews the medical records and documentation you submit and applies the Medi-Share Guidelines. Our Medical Review team members are available to answer your questions and walk you through any aspect of the review process.
"Human in the loop" is not just a technical term for us. It reflects our belief that every member deserves to be seen and served by people who care. No AI system will ever replace the judgment, compassion, and accountability of our team.
“Human in the loop” is not just a technical term for us—it reflects our belief that every member deserves to be seen and served by people who care. No AI system will ever replace the judgment, compassion, and accountability of our team.
How Your Information Is Used
When you submit medical records or documentation as part of a sharing request, that information may be processed by our AI-assisted review tool for the following purposes only:
Organizing and summarizing clinical documentation to assist staff review
Identifying relevant medical history, diagnosis codes, or treatment information within submitted records
Flagging items that may require additional staff attention or follow-up
Supporting consistency in how documentation is reviewed across requests
Your information is not used to train external AI systems or shared with third parties outside of Medi-Share’s established data practices and applicable agreements.
Your Rights and Our Commitment to You
If you have questions about how your records were reviewed, or if you believe any aspect of your sharing determination should be reconsidered, you have the right to request a review by a member of our Member Services leadership team. Technology supports our work—it does not limit your access to answers, reconsideration, or the personal attention you deserve.
We are committed to transparency, and we welcome your questions.
Please contact Member Services at 1-800-772-5623 or visit medi-share.com if you would like to speak with someone about your request or this notice.
