Shaping the Future of Medi-Share Together

As a member-driven ministry, you have both the privilege and the responsibility to help shape our shared program guidelines. This year's ballot asks you to consider two proposed changes to the Annual Household Portion (AHP).

Both proposals have been carefully reviewed by the Member Steering Committee, an independent group of fellow members who studied each change on your behalf. Now it's your turn.

Please take 5–10 minutes to thoughtfully and prayerfully consider each question before you vote.

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."—Galatians 6:2

Key Ballot Dates

Event Date
Ballot opens November 13th
Ballot Closes December 18th

Please note: Once your vote is submitted, it cannot be changed. Review your responses carefully before submitting.

Proposal 1: Changing the Annual Household Portion (AHP) Reset to a January 1st Cycle

Today, your Annual Household Portion (AHP) resets on a rolling monthly basis, tied to the month your membership became active. This means the reset date is different for nearly every household.

The proposal would move all members to a standard reset date of January 1st each year. Your AHP would remain a one household AHP under this proposal.

Maintain Current (Vote NO) Agree With Change (Vote YES)
How the reset works Rolling out monthly reset based on your membership start month One shared reset date of January 1st for all members
Predictability & Planning Varies from household to household Aligns with the new year, when many families already plan changes

Proposal 2: Changing When You Can Adjust Your AHP Amount

Today, you can change your AHP amount at any time, except during pregnancy. Moving to a lower AHP amount requires a three-month wait before it takes effect. Moving to a higher AHP amount takes effect the first of the next month.

The proposal would set a single, predictable window each year. Members who submit an AHP amount change by December 31st would see that change take effect January 1st, with the AHP resetting to $0 as it does today.

Maintain Current (Vote NO) Agree With Change (Vote YES)
When you can change your AHP amount Any time during the year Submit a change before December 31st, for a January 1st effective date

What the Proposed Changes Would Offer

  • Promotes the responsible and effective use of shared funds while safeguarding against misuse

  • More consistent sharing, as all members build toward their AHP at the same time
  • A new hardship process for financial difficulties, previously unavailable
  • Greater flexibility for those with a qualifying financial hardship, with no wait on upward or downward AHP amount changes

Quotes from some of the Medi-Share Steering Committee Members

"I’ve lost track of my own AHP reset date under the current system. A January 1 reset is simple and easy to remember, and I appreciate that there is a thoughtful transition planned to get everyone onto the same cycle."

- Steve H.

"As a long-time member, I truly appreciate Medi-Share’s ongoing efforts to steward member resources well through service efficiencies while maintaining the overall mission."

- Robert B.

"I am excited about the new changes coming to Medi-Share with the AHP upgrades. It will make it easy to remember when those changes can take place. Those basic changes will save the organization and in turn the members a significant amount of expense and streamline the process."

- Deb H.

"Giving individuals an opportunity to change the AHP with the same January 1 implementation makes sense as this helps with an individual’s budgeting process. Thus, I endorse this proposal. It reflects Medi-Share making our program easier to use for all members."

- Mark D.
